THE BIRDHOUSE

Nestled deep in the woods is the dreamiest cabin called, "The Birdhouse", an off the grid, solar powered escape located in Deep Creek, Maryland. This beautiful nature sanctuary made me feel like I was in the Galapagos Islands, on the pages of Ernest Hemmingway's "To Kill a Mockingbird' book. One of the most charming, eclectic, comforting pieces of paradise I've ever visited basically in my backyard! I can't believe this hidden gem is in the state of Maryland!

The owner and his son built this innovative spot on their own and the uniqueness of their design thoughts shines through! They used actual Chesnut trees on the property as foundational pieces for the house. You see them as structural beams all throughout the 4 levels of the house. The first level is a charming, welcoming, cozy floor. Complete with a kitchen, bathroom, shower and living room complete with a fireplace. The floor to cleaning is covered in windows showing off the amazing forest view.

To get to the sleeping areas, you’ll take a super sturdy, secured to the foundation latter up to the 2nd floor where a queen bed and little reading nook is.

Continuing up the latter, you'll find another mini bedroom with a single bed.

And the final level is a rooftop of sorts with a hammock chair and exercise bands to work out or lay out enjoying the outdoor breeze and view. If you are a nature lover, this cabin will steal your heart!

If you're a bird lover, you are going to lose your mind! Birds surround the house as it is complete with several bird feeding stations. I also saw an eagle and hawk while here and apparently, they frequent the area as the breeze picks up! The house has binoculars, so you don't miss a thing!

I honestly can't decide if daytime or nighttime is the best here, but both were an absolutely vibe. I am obsessed with "The Birdhouse" and will be visiting as often as possible since it's just a 2 hour and 15-minute drive from me! "Got to blame it on Jesus #blessed"

The Birdhouse doesn't have an Instagram or website, but you can book your stay on Airbnb. The owner will meet you at your arrival to take you to the place (It's super remote. If you have a SUV or truck, definitely drive it!) and give you an informational breakdown on how everything works so you're all set to go! I can't wait to hear how much y'all love this place! Tag me in your pictures!
