Arizona is my favorite state out of all 50! It stole my heart in 2009 and has remained my favorite since although there’s been a couple others sneaking up trying to take its place. I've been to Scottsdale and Sedona but wasn't a blogger back then, so I don't have all the content to put into this post. No worries, I'll be heading back soon and will update this post asap!
In the meantime, I want to talk about the most epic hike I've taken to date in Arizona! If you're visiting Las Vegas, it's just 45 min away right pass the Vegas/Arizona state line. The hike location is called Arizona Hot Springs Trail near Lake Mead. I can't put into words (but I'm going to try) how beautiful and life changing this hike was! First off if you go the right way it should only be about 1 hour to the stunning in cave natural hot spring and then 1 hour back if you don't take the loop to the parking lot. If you're an avid hiker, you definitely want to take the loop because the 2nd leg of the hike was the most beautiful! You end up on Lake Mead overlooking the beautiful blue water and mountains with jaw dropping view of the mountains that will be etched into your memory forever! With that being said it will add about another 2 hours to the hike. We got lost on this hike and that's how we found this beautiful spot, but a 2-2.5-hour hike turned 5 hours due to getting lost in those beautiful mountain peaks, valleys and caves. I'll say it over and over though, it was so worth it. I love a hot spring! That water is so healing!!! It is age defining, skin softening liquid gold and I want to put my body and face in as many hot springs as possible in my lifetime! So, if you're going to take this hike on, grab a friend and be sure to have plenty of food and water with you to keep you going! Enjoy the adventure of this trail and I know it will end up on your top 5 hikes of all-time list. *P.S* Clothes are apparently optional at the hot spring so be prepared to see some naked men lol We were not aware of this when embarking on this conquest and I'd like to warn you! The men were very respectful and covered themselves but still it was a little alarming but hey I guess that's what you get when entering the wild!
